Construction Codes

All MODUS cushions are constructed with materials and methods that are environmentally safe and meet UFAC fire retardant standards.

Tailoring Standards

All fabric is applied in a four-way match ensuring a perfectly matched piece vertically and horizontally.  Four-way match is the epitome of tailoring techniques and includes matching an inside back and seat deck as well as all cushion sides to allow a matched look when cushions are reversed.

Hand Crafted

MODUS utilizes only the finest kiln-dried hardwoods of high dimensions, spring systems customized for the application, and fabrics carefully cut and pattern matched for an uninterrupted flow of design.  Each custom creation is a hand-crafted labor of love reflecting the art of the craftsman who makes it.  Due to variances in individual craftsmanship all measurements are approximate only.

Master Craftsman

All MODUS craftsmen are employed on a salaried basis, ensuring quality and care in manufacturing. 

The Frame

Customized for the application.  Solid poplar hardwoods in large dimensions, kiln dried to prevent twisting and warping.  All structurally engineered and individually shaped to the contour of each design. 

The frame is covered by a layer of perforated woven soft Polypropylene, followed by a thick layer of Softcell foam to provide insulation from the fabric and lend added softness to the feel.  Softcell foam provides superior comfort and durability, a high loft, and soft fluffy feel without the problem of settling, migration, lumping or percolation. 

Spring Systems

Customized for the application.  Manufactured from the highest quality above-industry standard steel springs available in the market today.  Spring systems are covered by a layer of perforated woven Polypropylene, followed by a thick layer of Softcell foam, and a 3” “Soft Edge” on the front border of the frame to minimize cushion wear and maximize seating comfort.

Welted Edges

Welted seams on all outside frame edges, where appropriate.

Self Decking

All units are self-decked in matching fabric, synonymous with quality tailoring.

THE CUSHIONS

Customized for the application.  Manufactured from the highest quality cushioning products available in the market today.

Ultracell.   Premium high density, resilient, polyurethane foam, proven in laboratory tests to be durable, versatile, and best of all comfortable, is featured as standard on all MODUS upholstery.  Ultracell foam is manufactured by an environmentally safe method without the use of Flurocarbons which escape into the atmosphere.  Ultracell foam meets the California flammability standards.  Ultracell foam is covered by a thick layer of top quality polyester fiber attached to the core around the top, bottom and front edge of the cushion.  Cushions are available in soft, medium or firm densities.

Springdown Upgrade.  Coil springs individually wrapped in muslin pockets, mounted in Ultracell foam fabrication unit.  The unit is inserted into a down-filled down-proof casing.  The top and bottom of each channeled section is filled with 75% feathers and 25% white duck-down.  This luxurious combination builds firmness and support into the spring and foam, while maintaining loft and softness with the down jacket.

Ultradown Upgrade.    Ultra luxurious blend of foam core completely wrapped in a thick layer of comfort bond fiber.  The wrapped core is filled in a cover which has sewn channels that are generously filled with Ultradown.  Ultradown is a blend of 60% feathers and 40% down.

BACK PILLOWS

Customized for the application.  Manufactured from the highest quality cushioning products available in the market today.

DuPont Hollofil Fiber.  Hand filled in a muslin casing.  Recommended for use with Ultracell seat cushions.

Downblend Upgrade.  A blend of 75% feathers and soft fiber and 25% down.  Hand filled in a down-proof casing.  Recommended for use with Springdown seat cushions.

Ultradown Upgrade.  Ultra luxurious blend of 50% feathers and 50% down.  Hand filled in a down-proof casing.   Recommended for use with Ultradown seat cushions.

Note:
